Wife gets this idea

First she is complaining about barn swallows at her parents house and asks me if I have a rubber snake or an owl decoy. I tell her "no." That's the last I hear.

Then at lunch I take a short walk by their house, and...…………...

Your first mistake was not HEARING what she asked instead of hearing what she asked. I would’ve thot a good Kentuck boy would’ve learned that long ago. Just be glad she didn’t hang you up there instead of the decoy. And for goodness sakes don’t ask her what was she thinking?? You can thank me later. Besides a Master of Random Clusters I am also a guru for relationships. Ask my first wife.

We had the same problem but I guess our rubber snakes weren’t convincing enough, they built right on top of them and use the snakes for reinforcement.

I’ll take a few barn swallows. They help with those pesky flying bugs that bother us when we are trying to enjoy an afternoon or evening out.

That’s what I told my wife. They crap on the porch but it washes off and nesting season isn’t that long. I’ve stopped crapping my pants when one flies out of the nest in the dark when I take Sarge out to pee, so I don’t really see the problem.

Yes, time for an update. The barn swallows seem to appreciate their new perch. It is a very comfortable place to land on.

Noticed a bird fly into dryer vent while we were sitting on deck the other day. Few days later I climbed on ladder and sure enough a nest behind vent door. I looked. No bird. Pulled out nest and bird flew out scaring the crap out of me. Lol. Wonder I didn’t fall. Lint had plugged 15 fr of duct. Wonder it hasn’t caught fire. Fun to get cleaned out. Good news I thot old dryer was going bad as it wasn’t drying as usual! Money saved.

I've been looking at building some of those. We have a huge flock of swallows that nest under a bridge about a mile away. Every morning a flock of them come up to the pasture and buzz the herd for a few minutes before moving on with their rotation. I figure a couple of flocks on the place would cut down on herd costs and probably help the deer some.
