What does this JD sticker mean?

It is by the MFWD lever on my 5075e. The manual says to push forward to engage and to pull back to disengage the MFWD, but the sticker makes it look like pushing the lever down means the tractor can’t move forward.

That slash means the drive connection to the front of the tractor is cut off. I agree. Some of the symbols used on modern equipment controls seem like they were designed by a third grader. A plain old 4X4 or Four Wheel Drive would seem to be the obvious symbol. But Chinese can't read.

Yep JD does have some strange markings. My 4wd lever is marked well but the bucket lock required interpretation by a 6yo. Makes no sense. And I’ve never understood why the screen can’t speak a warning instead of a code you have no idea meaning until you get home to look up. And mi e kept giving error code not listed in manual. Finally determined it was poor contact w metal of one of 3 ground wires. Simple fix but of course was the last of 3 grounds I ckd that corrected prob.

the Codes drive me crazy. It's cheaper and easier to program it that way, but a simple word list would be so much user friendly.

Took me a while to figure out what the 1 and the 0 stand for on on and off switches. My buddy eventually informed me that it originated in binary computer code. 0=ya got nuthin. 1=ya got somethin!

You can normally google your tractor by brand and model for codes and get a diagram of what the symbols mean. If that doesn’t work, call your local dealer and have the service manager email them to you.

Color really doesn’t matter on the codes because everyone has the symbols that make no sense. As far as purchasing tractors , it comes down to what you prefer and which dealer was the closest. I have all three major dealers near me but have grown up on blue so that’s what I buy. Just my personal preference.
