Looks like a pretty awesome setup to grow trees from seed. This unit is expensive, but maybe there is a way to rig up a redneck version that does the same thing.

I do too. That actually how I heard about this contraption - there was an article in this weekends WSJ about stuff Martha Stewart endorses.

I could see my brother and SIL getting one of these. They are all into the hyrdoponic, mini green house in your house thing right now. I think they are trying tomatoes right now.
