Ha! I'm not that artistic. I had just finished my last Captan / Imidan spray per Maya's (or Appleman's?) program when I decided to snap the pictures. What'd ya do spray it with water for dramatic luscious picture effect?

Since you brought it up, before I broke down, bought the $400+ Northstar tree sprayer, and started the spray program late this spring, I could hardly keep leaves on my trees much less get apples.
I had a horrible outbreak of gypsy moth caterpillars last year. Unfortunately the Imidan doesn't affect them. My trees were defoliated before I figured that out. Eventually I hit them with Sevin which saved my leaf regrowth, at least. So, be careful of that if your area has an outbreak. It's bad news.Yeah that spray program is top notch for sure, its worked fantastic for me.
I love the crab! What's the chances of me getting some scions off that crab this fall? I have a few wild crab seedlings I would love to graft next spring. I will payHere are a few crabapple pics......

This is a crabapple I call "fireball". It's a seedling grown crab and drops in November. Sometimes it needs the help of a good shake to get fruit on the ground.

No problem at all. I planned to showcase 4 or 5 crabs this fall that i have planted from seedlings. They are the only keepers out of 100 i had planted. They pass the test on diseases and fruiting. The others became smoker wood.I love the crab! What's the chances of me getting some scions off that crab this fall? I have a few wild crab seedlings I would love to graft next spring. I will pay
Sweet, just keep me in mind when you collect your scions I will gladly graft them. I'm looking for some late droppers to add to my property. I planted a good number of pears, apples, a few crabapple and around 30 chestnuts on the new place this year. I have 3 more spots I'm working on opening up so I can plant more lolNo problem at all. I would love to see them growing elsewhere, and I've grafted them too.
Count me in for some of those scions of that crabapple!! Looking to add more on my place for pollination and anything that drops late, is a bonus!!!No problem at all.
