Let's see your fruit! I am only in year 2 for my pear and apple trees. As a result, I had only 2 tiny pears on one of my Kieffers to show for this year's crop. However, I can't wait until they really start kicking out the fruit.

I think a thread with pics of your crop this year, your general location, and the type of trees that are producing well for you this year would be an extremely interesting, informative, and fun thread to begin and build upon as time goes on.

With that said, anyone having a good year for pears, apples, persimmons, etc?

On my reservation... Southeast of Gitche Gumee the chestnut trees have caught a blight and only bloomed half way up. Cannot spy an acorn on any of the red & white oaks regardless of my stealthy approach. Crooked Crows fruit trees are stressing under the fruits of their labor.

I received some pear seed from lone cedar farm (a qdma member) in early 2012. Grew seedlings in my green house that year and planted the pear trees in January 2013. Now showing some fruit in their fourth year. I probably should have purged some of these little pears but I just couldn't

I can imagine that was hard! Good to see some success from the "blight and friends" Capitol of the us. It's hard to tell from the fruit in the photo, but are those Asian pears? They look outstanding for 4 years out from seed

They ain't pretty and they are not in numbers, but these are the first real apples off my trees.....I am pretty pumped! I even had to post pics earlier in the year because I wasn't sure if I had the early stages of apples or not. I thought they where but I had to confirm. Hopefully this is the first of many years to come!

These are awesome guys. I'm jealous of those with wild fruit trees on their land. NH, your green thumb is as impressive as they come. Merle, I'm working on having a backyard apple to call my own. J-bird, congrats on that work finally paying some dividends. Doc, those persimmons look awesome. I haven't considered them much yet for my land, but I think I should.

Apples are a tough proposition in Alabama due to the long, hot, humid growing seasons creating such a haven for fire blight. I'm experiencing great resiliency thus far with my pears, with my first good bloom this past spring. I wonder if persimmons fare better in regard to blight compared to apples, generally speaking?

I have mostly kieffer, but did add a few ayers that look promising as well as a moon glow that I got on sale. The moon glow has never looked healthy and think it might be a candidate for removal, as I don't want to chance the extremely healthy others for one that has experienced problem after problem since the day I put it in the ground.

I had good fruit last year in year 2 but a bunch of hard freezes this year has left me with no pears, only crab apples.
