Stone Branch, build it, they will come.

Surprised your getting pics on corn if you have a lot of acorns. I haven’t had a deer picture on a feeder in 2 weeks here on the hollow but our other property has no acorns and deer are swarming the 1 feeder I have there...

They are there for the acorns and are just paying lip service to the corn.

My 4 port feeder I get most every big deer picture on is down in the oaks...they won’t even pay it lip service now...

George, you’ve got a very nice place and some great bucks. I am curious also on what you plan to do with those coffee tree slabs. They are beautiful!

Very cool slabs man! What you gonna do with them?

Just need your rendition of Crocodile Dundee’s “Now that’s a saw!”

Thanks guys, my plan so far is to sticker stack them in my living space where they will dry this winter.

Good looking stock there George and the saw did well. We had good results using Anchorseal2 from USCoating in Buffalo, New York for coating the ends of the boards. Actually we applied it when the logs were cut and then again once we sawed them into boards. We tried to get by without it but had serious splitting on the ends. The Anchorseal2 did a good job keeping the ends from splitting. Also the top boards in the pile needed a serious amount of weight on them; when we didn’t weight down top boards in the pile the top three or four really warped baldly.

Thanks Dave, I painted the log ends when I cut them with titebond wood glue then again after trimming before sawing, probably wouldn't hurt to coat them again.

Looks good George. I’ve had my Walnut stacked, weighted , and covered for 2 years. Finally starting new house construction next month hopefully.
Using the thick one for a fireplace mantle and the boards for shelving and some faux ( How about that word ??) beams and a desk top.
Buddy has a kiln that I’m goi g to use for final bake. Good luck w yours. Btw I cut mine w a 2 man crosscut saw, just to say I did.

Nice, I have a walnut down that I would like to get after. Can you dead lift a carry your mantle?

My walnut are all dying. Was lucky to get this one down before same happened to it. Also. cut a red Oak but liked this better. Me and another guy lifted it off trailer and on to stack. One heavy SOB!!

Looks good guys. My buddy just bought a Woodmizer to do his own milling. I’m planning to do a tree or ten on it. He’s mainly going to use it for out buildings.

The guy he bought it from was upgrading. He was using shipping containers to dry his boards. Looked like a good idea.

Thanks guys, ya I'm a proud owner of a 661. I've got my eye on a tulip poplar with a 6' circumference.

I was in my new ridge north stand a couple evenings ago, no deer.

Not seeing any deer, no bucks on camera for the past day, bumping deer in the dark, no rubs or scrapes, and I start feeling sorry for myself. Well I figure I'll go for a joy ride and check cameras.

A few mornings ago possibly the tall nine.

Sunday morning I felt a sprinkle at 4 am so I went back to bed allowing bucks to frolic under the empty stand. My first hard horned look at the palmate buck.

He is a pretty neat looking deer.

And this morning the other big 9 is rub urinating under the stand.

I decided that I'm going to quit crying and go hunting.
