Restoring my fathers old hunting Jeep

John, congratulations on the completion of your dads Jeep. I have been watching this since the beginning and truly admire the task you completed. I have zero mechanical ability and obviously you do. Only sad thing I can say is now what am I going to look forward to watching on this site. Sweet Ride and hope you and your family enjoy it for many years!!!!!!!

Is it missing an engine?

I got to say I like the trucks better than the bucket body style but your restoration on this thread is top notch! Are you going the same route with the truck or are you just going to clean it up and make it a solid driver?

No restoration, just going to get it running and enjoy it.........maybe a paint job ;)

Wayne...That'd be right down your alley! Funny you mentioned the above. When I saw it was a '56 year model of thought of the same since that's the year I was born. But then I thought...what would I do with it. Decided to hold out for a shot at my 1st muscle car...'67 Chevelle. But, I do love those old Jeeps.
 
Got her pressure washed. My goal is not a full restoration because I want it to be a yr round driver. I have to pull the nose off to put the engine in so I'll take off the bed too, wire brush and paint the frame, paint firewall , fenders, and grill.

Dual master cylinder upgrade with new brake lines. Strip and paint cab, new glass then get it running . Bed needs a lot of TLC so I'll leave it off and work on it at my leisure.

Found this online. Think I'll match it. Believe its president red. Looks old school to me. Love it

I thought you said you were "just going to get it running and drive it," or something along those lines? Looks like you are giving it a pretty good once-over all ready! Awesome old Jeep.

The motor was already out of it so I'm going to go over it and get it mechanically solid. I may paint it this winter but a quicky not a show finish for sure
