I feel like your mind is made up, Bull, on rage. Seems fine as I think confidence is important to shot placement.
Good shot placement you can kill any animal in North America with a field point or .22 rifle.
Rage are best for soft tissue. Double lung and rage deploys for pass through there is nothing better. Misshit, non pass through, or mechanical error and they are inferior.
Because the animals I hunt don’t always stand still and wait for me to make a perfect shot, I prefer fixed blade cut on contact. They still cut when you don’t pass through and they can’t fail to deploy.
I shoot them for the misshit, string jump, small branch I don’t see, rib bone I hit square, etc...
Not right or wrong, just my .02. But taking and making the best shot possible is most relevant and if rage gives you that, perfect. They kill a lot of animals.
