New growth this spring

Just noticed this at my field edge- appears to be a young shrub.

I’ve thrown a variety of different shrub berries into this area, and get a lot of bird activity, so it could be a wide variety of things. I routinely toss highbush cranberry and hawthorn berries into the field edges hoping for more shrub cover.

The flower looks familiar but I don’t know the name of it. It looks more like a vine than a bush though. And vines can turn into a Bush like a blackberry which in my opinion are great. Let us know if you figure it out. Looks like a compound leaf.

Definitely a compound leaf, and I found some more this morning on a walk. No thorns on the stems, but they are new shoots(canes?).

I would say your plant is Aniseroot (Osmorhiza longistylis).
