I was hunting yesterday afternoon(12-8-19) when this little guy with a nice set of antlers stepped out. I am guessing he is 2.5 and let him walk. I made sure to let the land owners daughter know. She gets a little trigger happy and doesn’t look at the whole deer, just the kill zone, lol. I’ve been helping her to try and calm down and see what the deer is before she pulls the trigger.

Large antlers also tend to make a deer's body look smaller.

This deer looked like a 2yo to me. He had the makings of a monster. A guy hunting on our neighbors killed him late September or early October.

Got a few trail cam picture a couple of days ago. He looks older here, maybe 3.5. I’m still gonna call him 2.5 because I watched him at 8-10yds and that’s what my brain says.

Wild deer usually don't get kickers like that before 3 1/2 or 4 1/2.

They definitely don’t normally look like that at 2.5yo on the farm. I got several pictures of him and one video. His legs just looked so long. Nothing even resembling him from last year.

He was on the no shoot list, but didn’t make it.

He was back at the trail cam/mineral site today. First pictures I have had of him in a month. All the other pictures, he has been far enough away from the camera that I knew it was him, but to far to get a great picture.

I think he's planning to keep that antler into the next season so he doesn't make the shooter list.

There is a smaller buck with him that has just one antler also. I reckon they are using them to determine social distance when they meet.
