He is the same height as my 1.5 year old deer, but rack is obviously bigger and muscles seem more developed. Thoughts?

That is interesting. Funny how he seems to have a deep body like an older deer, but is physically smaller than the others and still has good antler production.....
Now you got some other funny stuff going on based on the buck in the back in the second photo....what sort of a rack is that?
You live next to some sort of nuclear facility or something?!?!?

Seen some funny racks but never a dwarf body like that. He may be really young with great genetics, rack wise???

That is the other possibility - a young deer with unusual potential. If he stays around another year it will be easy to tell. I don't remember seeing him before this year.

That deer is named Abby Normal. He started taking deer cocaine at a young age.
I would guess young deer with a nice rack at this point, but I'm sure that it's possible for some deer to have smaller skeletons than normal. I see labs at work that are full grown at 70 lbs, and some are 100 lb. they are both labs but drastically different size wise.

Native you definitely have some interesting deer on your place this year. You'd swear he was an older deer if you didn't have a side by side to compare him to. Hopefully he's a young deer with an amazing future.

There is a line of dwarf deer around my place. They started showing up several years ago. Must be a recessive gene showing up. Same with albino deer in the area. There will be several around the area every so many years and then you wont see any again for several years.
