Geo in Co

Great pics as usual. Hank is looking good on the river, I think he has adapted well. How is the tofu situation?

Great to see you starting a thread, G. This site is only a week old and i am behind in my reading here already.
The trout pool gave me chills. I cant imagine calling a place like that home.
Hmmmmm, was that a copy of deer and deer hunting under the breakfast table?

Thanks John, get reading and get Little Blue flowing again.

It was fate that got that single Sept 2008 D&DH issue out to Co, good eye.

The West Fork of the San Juan is the drainage where I got my butt chewed a couple of weeks ago.

Red Mountain east is at the top of the first photo, in the legend, and the last couple.

Ok, we hit the ten picture limit.

Tofu? I'm still wondering if she'll ever be nice to me.

My friend Tad just sent me this photo from Alaska where he bought his new hunting camp. Tad sold his 400 across the block from me in Iowa a month before I closed.

Geo - This specific post is the most beautiful post a person will ever see. It defines "breathtaking" no doubt.
I am beginning to think you are working for the Dept of Tourism out there. Thanks for sharing with all of us.

I don't taking your picture taking ability for granted. You have the touch at capturing beauty and sharing it as well. :)

Ok your friend in Alaska might have just trumped your pics. I have a friend who just moved up there this summer. Only way into town is train or plane. Hopefully I see a hunt with him maybe next year once he settles.

You will hit our jealous button now with Colorado AND Alaska pictures. Beautiful places. Glad you are exploring your new home range.

Be careful what you wish for, next thing you know it will be more topless Geo pictures!

Some of those spots look familiar! I wish I could remember the names of all my old stomping grounds there. I don't think I've been there since '07.

Deer Patch, hunters in the know will suggest 95% cow calls and 5% bugles. I will most likely be quiet until I get out there and start learning the language. Hunting trails from above timber line back into bedding timber will be a strategy. I mentioned the wallows/water holes behind my house, out my front door I have Pagosa Peak, another spot to look in to. Lots of oak brush that elk tend to like.

I guess your due for another trip out. Over the counter unlimited archery tags, get your butt out here.

I don't think you will have any problem getting an elk from your past experiences with deer.:) When you get a couple 300+ elk you will not be thinking about the past anymore. Great looking land to hunt.

I could just sit and look at your scenery pics all day long.

Good job on the test!

Can't wait till your elk season starts

South San Juan Wilderness.

Some of the biggest tremuloides that I have ever seen.

Who would have ever guessed that the tofu Lady is also a tree hugger?

Hank almost went in over his head.
