Well I need something that drops into November. I also needs to tolerate wet feet sometimes, I just figured oak would be the better option. I also considered grafted persimmons. You set on oaks or would you consider chestnuts?
I have another spot picked out for them, where the soil is not as wet. What about AU buck IV Chestnuts? Pricey at $45/tree but they claim to drop into November.

Nuttall, water and willow oak will drop in November and tolerate getting their feet wet some. I picked up about a gallon of fresh swamp chestnut acorns today and it will tolerate damp conditions.
Don’t plant water Oak unless you want to wait 15 years before they produce good amounts of acorns.
We have three but they just finished up here two. They look healthy so I have high hopes I was thinking I may fertilizer them this spring.I was just reading about the Bucks unlimited swamp oak, sounds great, anybody tried it?
How old are your trees? When did they start producing? We have three but they just finished up here two. They look healthy so I have high hopes I was thinking I may fertilizer them this spring.
