When they are done, they are done. Would like to see an earlier season in the future.Daughter and I had a rough closing day saturday. Hens were out feeding as well as the ticks but we didn't see or hear one gobbler.

Ours must not be done...I went over to check on some cameras Sunday evening about 6:30 and walked right up on 3 strutting longbeards while I was wearing a red shirt. They let me get to 30 yards in the wide open plot...hens left quickly and gobblers dallied...When they are done, they are done. Would like to see an earlier season in the future.
Are you planting the forage sorghum for a screen?
I havent as of yet, however I saw a kid drive up the county road on the same 4 wheeler but was unable to catch up to him. I am still looking. What did you ever find out about the guy on the wheeler?
Its getting pretty hot here now. Highs near 90 and I am so happy my plots are done. Seat time on the tractor will definitely burn you without a canopy. If I did this for a living I would have an air conditioned cab. Getting rain right now at the farm. Should see some germination next weekend on the plots I planted Friday.Plots look great. I had a pair of jeans on at the farm with a rip in the right knee. My right knee cap was sunburnt after planting soybeans.
The seed tag was labeled forage sorghum. I got it from NWTF for $10 for 50#. I have quail so I was hoping they would benefit from it. If it does act as a screen that would be a bonus. I think it will grow like miloQuestion did you plant grain sorghum or actual forage like what we usually mix for screen, reason i ask is I hplant grain every year and quail are always around it but I never see them around forage sorghum
