Is it too early to plant crimson clover?

I plant crimson clover in the fall. Mine is very close to flowering at this point.

The Pennington Seed site says September - October in the fall and the month of March in the spring. I plant mine with chicory around the end of September. I have poor results trying to cover it so I just run the cultipacker over it. This works very well.

I've had good luck with early spring planting. Fall is better,but by June you can't tell the difference. Go ahead and plant it. You might learn something useful. It might last a little longer into hot weather planted now. I plant red with it for succession. It's so cheap I use it to fill in the gaps and till it under when it's done and plant something for fall.
