3 Apple Trees

The thread below shows a lot of apples that are CAR resistant if anyone is interested. If I call an apple DR (disease resistant) that includes CAR.

How is enterprise with CAR? I contacted Morse and they will switch out the gold rush. Based on their resistance list maybe a Liberty?

Enterprise has good resistance, and Liberty does as well. Neither of them are late dropping here, but are both good apples. Enterprise is later dropping than Liberty and might go into October here in some years. Both are later in the North.

Got my apple trees in this past weekend. I had it set to ship the week of April 20th so I could plant while I was up north turkey hunting. Of course they arrived on Saturday when I was 130 miles away! So my question now is do I leave them wrapped and just water occasionally or do I need to get them in some dirt in a bucket. I won't be able to plant them until May 9th.

Not saying im an expert on this, but I'd leave them in the box and make sure the roots are covered with medium, it the roots are exposed I'd cover them with sawdust and keep the sawdust wet at all times. The best place to store the trees is in a cool dark root cellar.
How many and what kind did you get?

Ok since no one else warned you about planting fruit trees,I will. You planted 3 and now you will become addicted and will feel the need to plant more and more every year. Then it gets worse and you plant pears, crab apples, chestnuts, different types of oaks. When you get in the thousands you might be busy enough to have to slow down but doubt it.I had to buy more from Turkey Creek this year and couldn't even think of open areas to plant so a couple of them went to my daughters yards.

and then you become addicted and plant more and more and more fruit trees and then the bears move in and start tearing them down... 😒

If you really want to go down a rabbit hole....

Cummins Nursery has 40% off rootstocks to ship now so you can plant and get scions next spring.

I went with G-890 this year, but have used B118 and MM 111 in the past.
