Found this one as a volunteer in an overgrown fence row that borders a yard that I mow. The tree has a "fruity" look. The fruits are very tiny at this time.

I agree with 144. I saw a show on television the other night where bears were climbing a large black cherry and eating the fruit. Amazing how far out on the limbs they went.

Thanks guys, that was my first guess but these leaves looked a little wider than the last cherry tree I posted.

It's a wild cherry tree. Once I was archery hunting early in the season when a deer came feeding along close to me at dusk and I couldn't figure out what the loud crunching noises were. When I walked over to investigate I discovered the ground littered with wild cherries. A valuable tree for timber and wildlife.

I've had similar experiences with hearing deer eating cherries. I've been "trapped" in my stand by deer underneath me long after it was time to climb down. It was pitch black dark, and the leaves were wet and the ground was quiet. Couldn't hear deer walking, but I could hear the popping and crunching of cherry pits being eaten.
