Flowers are about 5ft tall in most areas now and are putting on heads. Out in the middle they are 6ft plus. Should have flowers on them by the weekend

Sunflowers look great. How do you plan on handling the field after the seeds ripen and before dove opener? Will you spray and mow, spray and burn, let them stand, ......?
Thanks,
Keith

Once the flowers mature and start dropping seed we will go in and spray and nuke everything. We will mow some strips and plow the ground to keep it clean. Throughout the season we will cut more and keep everything plowed the best we can to keep seed on bare dirt.

Thanks for the reply. My sunflowers are almost 6 ft high. How do I spray them when they are so tall?

We will spray after we cut our strips and just drive over those areas with the 4 wheeler.

For between the rows, we will most likely either drive the 4 wheeler next to what's standing and use the wand sprayer, or throw the backpack sprayer on and start walking.
