They came too close for comfort. Twice. And it wasn't any fault of their engineers that they lost, it was their narcissistic leader who let it go to his head when they were winning. Okay, I apologize for opening a debate on WWII, couldn't resist throwing an iron in the fire. And I wasn't even born until 20 yrs after it was over.

Anybody who played Axis and Allies as a kid knows that two front situation was a bear to manage. Took a lot of lucky rolls to win one as the Axis powers.

Continuing to hijack this thread bu along the war lines... the George Washington docu on history ch this wk was interesting. Didn’t see much of it but his strategies to use underfunded untrained poorly dressed underfed army for 7 + years to defeat a major power to establish this nation is pretty amazing. We are a lucky people. And even some cutting edge soil management w rotational plantings on jos estate.

George Washington died from pneumonia after doing habitat management all day in the rain. Habitat management should possibly be considered a dangerous occupation?
