Working at the Farm - Took a few I-Phone Pics

He likes me better now - he's moved closer. But he will avoid @George due to the X-rated snakes....

Is your drop tines a newcomer?

G

I'm don't know for sure. We passed on a beautiful young deer (probably 3.5 but maybe 2.5) last year that I think may be him. That deer had a very short drop tine just beginning to form on one side. That deer also had the little fork on the right G2 like this one. I'm starting to think it's him.

After yesterday, I've probably run everything off for a while again. We demolished the old house that you saw when you visited. It was painful for me, but it needed to be done. The recent storm crashed a tree on it and took off most of the roof. I did get to salvage a few boards that we can make something out of someday.

He looks like he could be 4.

That was the other George or perhaps dogghr that visited.

Any pictures of the demolition?

Yes, it was dogghr that visited. I had just looked at his last post and had him on my mind - sorry about that.

I didn't take any pictures. It was just an old frame house where my grandparents lived, but I grew up there and had fond memories. We used a backhoe and flattened it. I salvaged some nice boards and quite a bit of the metal roofing. It will mostly rot away in a few years. I'm going to plant some tall shrubs around it later on.

And, I agree with at least 4. His fall body will make him look even older.

Not sure if I like the buck or the corn more. Looks great

The corn around here was starting to suffer from a drought until a few days ago, but suddenly we have had three floods. This corn was planted early, which helped it a bunch. Corn that was planted late is not faring as well.

I gotta stop viewing your threads. I’m all pumped cuz I have a “big” one on camera, then I see these deer. Kinda reminds me of showering in middle school

A buddy of mine has some good clean fun out of that cornfield picture. He said the corn looked just like the corn on his place. He proceeded to send my picture to all of his neighbors and told each of them it was his trail cam and not to tell anyone else about the deer. It may be fun now, but he will have 50 people setting on his line soon. :)

I'm going to do an update today, because I'm getting ready to start running a new fence and will be tied up for a few days. I also put in my last plots today for the year, because we have another several days of high percentage rain forecast.

This deer is still around, but he isn't showing often. I think he is laying close to the neighbor's beans which are 400 - 500 yards away. When crops start being harvested, I think he will be bedding on me. This deer is fully mature, and I will be targeting him.

Another old pot gutted buck. This is the only picture of him:

A nice prospect for 2 years down the road.

Three deer that might be prospects for next year. I think the two in the first pic are identical twins.
