Stuffed backstraps. Might be my favorite meal, prime rib a close second. They were unbelievable, managed to not overcook them, 3 minutes per side x 4 sides. Absolutely perfect.

Also blasted a doe on public last night. She’ll make good steaks

Nice job on the grub and doe! Like reading about public land kills, I’ve only pulled it off once in my life! Only a 140 lb 7 point but I consider it my greatest trophy due to the competition on a public WMA. Congrats again!
 
That was a button buck MM. I shot the biggest of five antlerless deer that were out there, three does and two fawns. Our fawns are big this year. I credit all the rain we had spring and summer as well as the acorn crop.

You've got it figured out! Not shooting button bucks is the biggest ingredient to keeping your deer herd balanced
