cutman Administrator Staff member Yesterday at 5:58 PM #2 I ask because I cut another one down thinking it was dead, but when it hit the ground there were definitely some little buds on upper branches. This is the one I cut down. Lots of broken branches in the crown. Going to be very good firewood.

Native Hunter Well-Known Member Yesterday at 8:43 PM #3 That is a Southern Red Oak (Quercus falcata). Great wildlife tree.
