What is killing this Chinese Chestnut Tree

Only one of the 3 trees is in ruff shape. The other 2 trees have very little damage on them. They are loaded with burrs as you can see in the pic. The trees are all old don't know how old though. The house on the property was built in 1824.

The tree I lost top killed, probably from drought. This tree is 15 - 20 feet.

I hate to see a tree I like die off. I guess it part of it.
