Pretty regular week night table fare when at home during the week. Funny how things change over time. Wasn't too many years ago I din't consider a meal worthy of eating if it didn't contain meat, bread, something fried and something sweet at the end. We still blow it out on the weekends but during weeknights at home we doing better as we get older.

Sauteed broccoli, cauliflower, baby spinach and garlic, baked sweet tater, portobello mushroom seasoned with Montreal Steak seasoning and sauteed in olive oil n red wine, wild rice blend.

You can keep the broccoli and califlower.

I do a lot with portabella mushrooms, started doing them in my early 40's.

I don't know who you are anymore Triple. You of all people who have posted some of the most mouth watering recipes and pics on this site, and then you go and insult the meat lovers of the world!! Me thinks you have inhaled too much smoke from your controlled burns. Guess I'll have tell my nearly 90 yo parents that they must quit their daily protein intakes even if they take no meds at this stage of their life. I am forced to unfriend you just like the snake charmers who post on here. I hope my tears do not make my backstraps I'm having tonight for dinner too salty.:(

I'm certain there were not too many chemicals used to grow that beautiful dish but one never knows. As good as it is, eat it in moderation 3C. Venison on the other hand, a product grown from natural plant growth fueled by the sun, and cooked in Worcestershire sauce can be eaten with wild abandon and OH it is so good!!!

Love Worcestershire, but too much sodium.

Ha! And to think this meal occurred south of the mason-dixon line with no meat and nothing fried on the plate. And no cornbread for a dinner meal! Sacrilegious! I could prolly be arrested in these parts. May have to post up a pic of my tomato / cucumber salad mix if this keeps up. Excuse me while I go eat my avocado with nuts n berries for breakfast this morning.

Not to worry. The weekend is approaching. Pellet grill gonna get fired up.

In an effort to redeem myself...wife took over kitchen duties tonight and prepared parmesan crusted chicken breasts. Failed to take a pic so it may not have happened.

BTW...I went many, many, many years not pulling cooking or cleaning duty. Somewhere after the empty nest years took place, I found myself wanting to do more and more of the cooking. These days, I'm pretty much the chef of the house. Any of your other older gents out there taking over more of the chef duties?

I love to cook, but don't hold a candle to the wife. If it's one of my 3 smokers, that's a different story. Cooking 3 big pork butts for a church get together next weekend.

You are just trying cover up that you ate rabbit food for a meal. No repentance. I have always cooked some but been a shared duty, except for the grill, No one is allowed to touch my grill.

I don't put salt on food usually and seldom eat pre-prepared foods. Guess my love for cube steak cooked in butter sprinkled heavily with Worcestershire sauce shows I still crave salt. Never gave it a thought and will now but it will continue to be a frequent meal when I'm the cook cause it is just so tasty and easy all around. Maybe I'll use a little less.

Love to marinate venison cubed steak in it FOR SURE. Too much sodium, but I still likes it!!!
