I've been doing a hidey hole set up behind my house around 20 years now. I've learned what works for me the hard way. The set up gets fine tuned ,enlarged ,every year. A hidey hole is never done. I took down the electric fence. It will take a while for them to find it. There's only about 10 deer in the area.

Does the Hot Wire run off of AC Power, or can you do it remotely with Solar or DC?

This is a bargain. I bought second hand on ebay. Uses 2 D cells that last 2 and half months. It's pretty inexpensive. I'm covering another small plot with it also.

Now that is cool. Just how much does setting up from nothing does a system like this cost?

I've had good luck with a zareba brand solar charger for the garden fence. In my experience they make a good product.
