The G3 Ranch Thread

G3 Ranch

Thought it was about time to get an ongoing thread started.
We named it the G3 mainly due to my last name starts with G & we have three sons...My wife & I have been married 34 years. We closed on the ranch in Oct of last year after looking for years, it's 622 acres & borders a small strip of corps land on the Neosho river. The property is mostly what I call goat land, rocks, hills etc... around 500+ ac are wooded, 100 ac or so of openings, a small hay field & food plot clearings. The ranch is within 40 minutes from work so we plan on building there soon. There is an old house & a metal shop, we plan on remodeling the house to live in while we build. The property had been neglected for a few years and getting it cleaned up has been/is more of a project than I anticipated. I have a few pics I'll post & do my best to keep updates current.

I had no choice but to disk & level a few of the clearings for plots...they were rougher than a Cobb.

Dang---you're starting off with a full deck! Some great looking deer and it will only get better.

When I purchased my land 13 years ago I had 1 doe and her fawn on the 160 acres. It was over grazed by cows and pretty much no food for deer. The entire season I saw that 1 doe with her fawn and a small spike. Would have loved to start off with a population like you have.

Good luck and congrats on the land---looks like a dream come true.

Thanks Todd, it's more land than I ever expected to own. I've been following your thread, amazing the improvements in habitat & wildlife...I'm taking notes!

It looks to be a great place and with that much land you can definitely make a difference! Looks like great genetic!

Got off work at noon, just about finished up leveling the NE plot
