Sericia Lespedeza control?

There was a thread over on the QDMA forum addressing controlling Sericia and the chemicals used. I know some have mentioned that Sericia laughs at Glyphosate but that has not been my experience. I sprayed some along the bar ditches of the county road that runs through our property a few days ago and it is dying nicely. Will try to get some pics this evening. Will be almost a week since I sprayed.

What is every one else's experience?

In really thick patches gly only kills the top layer. On thinner stands it works like a champ, but kills everything else too. I kill plenty every year with gly. I have had the best luck with Patureguard, it also seems to have some residual effect. The bad part is the last jug I bought was $100. I need to get up to my property and spray some SL, and mow, and plant foodplots, and trim stands.............................

Over at our other place on Home 10 when they delivered river gravel for the septic system they also brought in sericia. I did nothing to it for a period of time and it got pretty thick and was beginning to spread so 2 years ago I sprayed it once and killed it off. Last yr some of it came back so I reapplied. This yr only a couple small sericia plants left so it was controlled real well. I killed everything where this stuff was growing and I haven't really had any issues...

Will pastureguard hurt pine seedlings?

Pastora by dupont smokes it, too. All the pasture maintenance chemicals kill it but as 308 mentioned, they're pricey. I can't stand that stuff

i bet 4 quarts/ac of gly would take care of it if it's as thick as it gets on my place. And everything else, too. I've killed young SL with gly like kubota

I had a really bad SL infestation last year. I researched and ended up with Patureguard. It's expensive but boy it really works well. I got a really good kill on a 1.5-2 acre field that was completely overtaken with SL. Now it looks great!

Better keep an eye on it. When it is that size I have seen it look dang near dead then green right back up. Killing it in small patches like that is much easier than pure thick stands. Good luck.

I have killed off quite a bit of it in the past. Inside the fence it is thick around those pines. I am hoping it gets shaded out over time...

I have not tried PG around any conifers. It is pretty hard on little oak trees. Should be broadleaf specific. I'd have to read back through the label. I can tell you fire really gets it going, I have found that the year after a burn has been my best kills.
