savage 22-250

I recently bought a savage model 12 22-250. I know it is a varmint gun but does that mean it is just for coyotes and such or can it be used for racoons as well. sorry if this is a stupid question but I've never owned anything smaller than a 30-30 besides shotguns. thanks.

Well…it will definitely kill them. Many times raccoons are shot from trees so that might be an issue as far as how far the bullet continues to travel and if you are wanting to keep them for their hides that will probably be out but yes you can use them on a raccoon…
