Especially when the plant is less than 4-inches tall. They line-up in a field and go lockstep, up one side and down the other like a lawnmower!Deer love oats.
Both plots were small. One had almost as much rock as soil and the other had dormant weeds. I disced each pretty heavy, broadcasted seed, lime and fertilizer and used a drag harrow behind my 4 wheeler. Hopefully I get some growth to disc in for summer annuals in mid MaySeven to ten days. Maybe as long as long as 14 days. Depends on moisture and soil temperature, but probably not an issue right now.
Awesome!Just giving you an update creek. These were taken today and both oats and clover are germinating.

I hope so. I had about 10 turkeys in the plot yesterday scouring for any oats that didn’t covered up.

2 week update. Still no oat germination. Both Saturdays I’ve been at the farm turkeys were in the plot. I am sure I got a fair amount of seed covered but looks like the turkeys are scratching hard to get what they can.
I had my 22 magnum on my 4 wheeler but I am a butterball man. I’ve cooked wild turkeys a dozen or so ways but give up.Spring + turkeys = buy license and grab the 12 gauge
