Handy Soil Sample Tool

This may be old hat for many, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

The handiest tool I've used for taking soil samples is an inexpensive and compact bulb planter like the one in this link.

It must really suck not having any rocks.

Yeah, it does. Here in S.E. Louisiana you have to drive over a hundred miles to find rocks, or dig down six feet for gravel.

If the OP is in need of any rocks you can come up to me and take all you want, and the best part is you get to pick your own so you will not get any bad ones.

Thanks anyway CTM1, but you can keep your rocks and I'll keep my fine sandy loam. Although a few years ago I wanted a handfull of football sized rocks for a garden area and had to buy them from a local nursery. They were pretty dang expensive.
