Graft Update

Looking great. This spring will be my rookie season on grafting. I am not worthy  but man you sure are.

That's a standard, winter-hardy rootstock, right? No wonder it's still green. Probably thinks it's early fall as far South as y'all are :)

The wife and I are going to take a grafting class this spring. If we're lucky, we'll get results half as nice as that. Two weeks until your nuts go into substrate! Much appreciated.

Fantastic! Did you pot up a bareroot rootstock?

Yep. I usually use the one gallon rootmakers the first year then plant in permanent location. This was planted in a 3 gallon nursery pot I had laying around. The Antonovka rootstocks were too big for a one gallon.

Correct. Grafting apples and pears is VERY easy. I learned just watching Youtube. Don't over think it.

Very nice growth! My largest this year was about 5 and half feet on b118 and I grow them in a garden bed.
