Favorite Calibers?

7mag if I shot a gun,my daughter and wife fight over the old Rem 700 so I bought another one so they each have one.

I downed many deer with a Savage lever gun in .308 but have been hunting with my 30-30 carbine for the last 30 years. Main reason is that I do not need the long distance power of the .308 and found my 30-30 is just as lethal at typical forest distances. TR

There is no one caliber that does it all and does it well. If you're like me and you hunt everything from squirrels to moose, you're going to need several rifles.
My favorites are having a 17HMR heavy barrel for pest removal around the house, a .243 for predators, a 7mm08 for youth and ladies, and a 300WSM for myself. The 300WSM is just a 30-30 on steroids .
