DCO

Does anyone know of a good place to buy an older DCO seedling. Say 3-4 years old? I have one in my yard that tried to produce acorns this year but none got pollinated. I thought it may cross with some of the other white oaks that I have but apparently DCO doesn’t cross very easily.

I don't have personal experience with either of these nurseries, but they do offer 3 and 7 gallon trees.

The moral of this story is to always plant at least three of whatever it is that you are planting so you have a backup in case one of them dies. I only planted two at my house.

DCO should produce in 2-3 years. I attempted to dig a 3 year old and failed because of the massive root system.

Here's a picture of mine's acorns today, 8-31-18. They are starting to change so almost time to pick.

Acorns started coming off today (9-8-18).

Checked my one DCO that managed to set an acorn this year out in the deer woods and it’s no where near close to being ready. Probably at least a couple more weeks. This tree is 5 years old and is about 3’ tall.
