Covid-19 Fruit

The deer are hammering this right now. If I wanted an archery doe, I would set up a ground blind 30 yards downwind from this tree and it would be automatic....

What in the cornbread hell is that ? I’d have to watch you eat one before I’d take a bite….

Kousas are nice, we used to plant a lot of them in the urban city areas when we did landscaping. Absolutely gorgeous blossoms on them!

In your experience are there any varieties that don't produce good fruit? The local nursery just got a shipment of them in and I'm thinking of buying 1 or 2. Flowers are nice but I want the largest fruit possible.

I just talked to a local nursery and they said the variety they get does not produce fruit, of course the gal might not have known what she's talking about.

Just ordered a couple from here Cat. They have a deal on them right now. I spoke with customer service and they seem pretty easy to work with when it comes to delayed shipment.

Thanks for the link but I already stopped by the local nursery early this morning and bought 2. I told her I wanted them for the fruit and she said she didn't know you could eat them, but they have potted trees fruit often so it shouldn't be a problem. She was very interested after I told her they were edible.

Holy cow, it's been a minute since we did landscape planting. I do know there are a few different Cornus kousa cultivated varieties but I don't recall if they all produce fruit or not.

My brother just asked me what this was, and I was thrilled I knew! Thanks for making this thread. He ate one and he said the same. It didn’t taste great but it wasn’t bad.
