Camo netting for stands

What type of camo netting do yall like for deer stands? I'm tired of buying cheap crap (not cheap to buy just poorly made) that only lasts one season.

Is there something good out there or is it just trial and error with the junk and hope I get lucky?

Someone I work with mentioned you could pick up surplus army tents for about the same price as the burlap and they last for 3 or 4 years. I am going to try to find a few to try this year.

I have used this product and am satisfied with it. It holds up for several years. It is a vinyl product that allows wind to pass through easily. It does fade from exposure but is easily spray paint-able.

I had this same issue about 5 years ago and I found a way better solution at zero cost and also last a lot longer. I have a friend who lays carpet for living. He does a lot of outside carpet jobs and always has scraps and left over. The stuff last 10 time longer, and also hides you better and on top of that it blocks the wind!!!!! I don't even care what color it is, spray paint any design, color to match your surrounding.

I like the surplus camo military netting. It is durable and seems to last much longer than the stuff you buy at the hunting stores. It often comes in odd shapes but is about the same price of cheaper. The burlap stuff just seems to fall apart.

Lke others have said, if you can get a real military camo net it will last a long time. Ive seen nets up for years in the desert sun while in iraq. They never faded, just collected dust. Ive aquired a few over the years that i use for shade and to camo my duck blinds.

I bought military surplus brown and green camo netting at a gun show over 20 years ago. It has been hanging on several of my stands for that period of time and it is still in good shape. My stands are 4x4x4 elevated enclosed stands built with treated lumber. So the camo goes on the outside of the stand to break up the profile and blend it with the background. It occasionally tears, but it has not faded or needed replacing. If I recall correctly, a huge bundle of it was about $20-25 back then. I tried burlap but it did not withstand the Wisconsin seasons.

I also use this camo netting to hang inside my stand windows when I am not in the stand. On windows that do not open, the camo netting hangs permanently. You can see out of it, but it really breaks up any profile or movement looking from the outside into the stand.

We've found the same thing. There is nothing better to completely block your movement than a solid piece of carpet. Also knocks back the wind and is generally very quiet. It also lasts years.

Here's a recent stand we wrapped in carpet after 2 layers of burlap provided little cover and lots of unnecessary movement during any kind of breeze.

The tv tower was also on the agenda that day. Hard to find an alternative that is as quick or sturdy to climb.
