Looks like we have nearly identical armament. I've had my 300 Wby with a Nikon 3x9 since about 1991 and the 25-06 wears a 3.5x10 VXIII.
 
Luepold or Redfield for me. Great warranty and company. American made.
Although I do have vortex binos and spotter and like them both but never had a reason to try another scope.

You won't, obviously are you aren't going to be able to tell how you like a setup, the sights whatever just through online suggestions, thats what I mean go into a store and see what fits best, forum suggestions on a product are just personal opinion
 
I have older Leupold Vari X III scopes on several of my hunting rifles and they have never let me down. I hunted with a Swarvorski this season on my primary rifle and a Luepold on the back up rifle. The Swarvorski would be out of your price range. I am guessing that you might find a used 4.5x14 Leupold Vari X III for around $400 on the secondary market.

I bought a Nikon Prostaff about 6 months ago, looked ok. Then I did the real research for my Ruger American Compact in 7mm-8, and based on OT's writings, decided on the Vortex Diamondback 3-9x40. Yea, I'll be buying another Vortex for my new Ruger American Predator here shortly.

Any of the three you list are quality scopes and will do what you want. Look through each of the three and go with the one you like.
 
I won a Kimber 7 mm 08 rifle and i went to gander mountain and I checked out a 2 x 7 x 33 Leupold and compared it to a 3 x 9 x 40 Vortex crossfire in the store, I set both scopes on 3 power and IMO the Leupold was much more clearer and there was only a $40 difference in price.
 
My Burris failed after 15 years on my favorite rifle. It wouldn't hold the cross hairs after a shot. Went to the gun store and said I want a great score for under $600 dollars. I was floored. He picked the vortex. Never heard of it. The last time he picked me a ziess. The cost was around $450. He said they are the best scope going right now. I bought it. No issues at all

You contact Burris? May have sent you a new scope!
I have two vortex scopes as well. A high end viper on a long range rig and a low end diamond back of a hunting rifle. Very happy with the viper but the diamond back is just ok. Not as bright as a couple of my other budget scopes.
 
No I didn't contact Burris. Figured I got my money's worth. The guy at the gun shop said he's seen this problem before with old scopes. They can only take so many shots I guess
 
I have several older Burris scopes on my rifles and have never had a problem with them. I would have contacted their customer service department and see if they could fix or replace that scope for you. Just because a scope is old does not make it break.
 
I've never been disappointed with Leupold, so that would be my choice. I'm sure there is a lot of nice glass on the market, some cheaper, some more expensive, but I tend to gravitate towards what I'm comfortable with. I've got examples of Nikon, Bushnell, and Vortex glass...not that there is anything in particular wrong with them, I just prefer Leupold.
