Found this one today trying to dove hunt in northwest Missouri. Type of plum?

I am thinking this might be a good candidate for my road screen on my new piece. Scatter a few oaks in with it for height.

But do you want food at a road screen? Could that be a problem sometime by drawing deer to be near the road? Other than that, I think they would make a good screen.

The coons will never let them hit the ground! The deer will have to walk through soybeans to get to them. Gravel road with light traffic. For some reason I very rarely see plums on the ones I have up north.

chickasaw plums make a great screen to divide large plots into smaller sections

They will form dense thickets
