Batteries for brownings.

One thing to watch with the Lithium batteries in the Brownings is they'll read 100% until they're dead. That's how they work at least in the half dozen Strike Force HD's that I have.
Funny you should say that. One of the cams I left up said 100% when I filled my feeder a week ago. Went there last night and it is stone dead. But that is still around 7-8 months I got out of them. I check my cameras often so I didn't miss out on much, but I could see it as a problem if you weren't able to check as frequently.

I use Brownings also. Quite often I find only two or three of the batteries are dead but the others still good. It pays to have a digital readout battery voltage checker so you aren't throwing still good lithium batteries away prematurely.

Well I must be in the minority on this, but I use cheap, generic brand batteries from Menards in my Browning Strikeforce and have had great luck with them, taking thousands of pictures and lasting about 6-8 months. I used the litheums for a year or two, honestly the generic batteries are almost as good in my opinion. North Tech and Performax are the generic brands, 48 batteries for $10.23 with the discount.

We probably experience colder conditions for more extended periods of time here. Extreme cold is hell on alkalines but in the spring, summer, or fall periods you could probably get away with them just fine even here.

Duracell in my Browning Strike Force Cameras make it from late October thru December and still show 80+ % left. But as mentioned the cold of January is too much for them; they seldom make it thru January.

I also it depends on how cold it gets. I run Energizers and have great luck with them, but three days in a row of high twenties is about as cold as it gets here.

Ya in WI. I am over using alkaline. They work fine July to October but then November rolls around and can't count on them at all. And with Lithium unaffected by cold the picture quality does not go down in cold.
