Any Sanctuary Builders / Developers

You sir are simply wrong. It a sanctuary
I think we are getting into semantics here guys. Typically a sanctuary, in the classic sense, is an area that is not hunted. Typically, you don't even do habitat work in it once established. Some folks go in once and do a major habitat update and then make it a sanctuary for the next 20 years. It is pretty typical to hunt around the perimeter of a sanctuary. It is generally, only entered after dark for the purpose of recovering deer that run into it after being shot.

Having said that, everyone has a unique property. Most of us don't have enough acreage to do effective QDM. The area we call a "sanctuary" at our place doesn't even belong to us. We have some neighbors with 150 acres of pines and they don't allow hunting on their place. We do have tracking permission on that property, so we consider it a sanctuary.

Regardless of what we call it, the more we can make mature deer feel unencroached upon, the better.

it is not a sanctuary if you are hunting in it.
The chief of the Supreme sanctuary court has spoken. There will be absolutely no hunting in any sanctuary. It is not a sanctuary if you are hunting it.
Now we need to do some re-districting to move all of our sanctuary boundaries outside of our hunting areas, but we can't get a quorum because some of our hunters fled the area so they don't have to vote.
Maybe it'll be easier just to call the shooting plot areas "low profile hunting units". I always knew that hunting inside a sanctuary was going to get us into trouble. Trouble like this;

If it’s a sanctuary it’s a sanctuary and if you have the patience and skills you can hunt the sanctuary most people don’t have the skills to go into it without blowing the thing up fact is most people aren’t very good hunters and sit on green fields 99% of the time and don’t pay no attention to wind or scent control

You're right, not everyone puts the time and effort into hunting like we do, and therefore doesn't have the skillsets required to go into a sanctuary and not ruin it.
My goal is to respect those people where they are at, realizing that they are probably very good at something that I'm not, and to help them if they are interested in learning.
Helping others and making new friends is way more important than shooting a few deer, so out of respect for others I try not to get dogmatic and push a point beyond where it wants to go on an online forum. Sometimes other people are right too, such as Geo pointing out that the words sanctuary and hunt are polar opposites.

Ok, Mr long arms, my conscience is clear I waited for him to walk 50 yards out of the sanctuary.

Put my last post in front of your last post.

That is a really nice buck. Should you have had me there to take the picture and order you to extend your arms, it would look like a REALLY REALLY nice buck.
I can't wait to see what you drag down off the notch this year. (1 foot outside your sanctuary line:)). This is going to be a new inside joke; betcha shot him inside your sanctuary boundary, dinntcha?

You know that I keep track of these things Menman, you and he walked on the same piece of earth. Perhaps we could harvest really, really, really nice bucks if we would just let them mature. If I give my 9 year olds another 9 years they would perhaps score 11" Boone and Crocket too. But remember hunting is all about getting high, I was 10' up with incense burning.
