My cover crop this year was a bust. My rye did not do well because I planted it too deep and we got tons of rain. I ended up replanting with winter wheat the day after Christmas.
Because I didn’t have much biomass to plant into, I terminated the cover crop early this year. Soil conditions were perfect this weekend, so out came the planter. I used the row cleaners this year which is why the field looks strip tilled.
