What is your “go to” weapon for deer hunting ?

I've sporterized a couple of Swedish Mausers, but not to the extent of yours. Shortened the barrels, and turned the barrel on one. Timney triggers on both but kept the factory safties. Mounted peep sights on both of them, and made quick release floor plates. Both were fun projects.

Need more information. Is that a sporterized military Mauser? Which brand of trigger, and safety? Looks like the floor plate was modified, did you do the work?

    Grading tips?

I usually spray in May while I'm spraying for tent caterpillars. Seems to last all season.

    Grading tips?

Spray your boxes with Bifenthrin. You won't have anymore of any bugs building nests. I use it in my box blinds, outhouse, and around all doors. No more spiders, hornets or wasps.

    Hello all

Favorite rifle was one of the Swedish Mausers I sporterized. But my eyes aren't good enough to use the peep sights anymore. So now I shoot a Remington 700 in 6.5x55 topped with a Sig Romeo red dot. I shoot my own handloads with a 120 gr. Remington PSP. Can't get those bullets anymore, so when...

    Loader Joystick Hydraulics question

Much cleaner setup with the new fittings. I'd be a little concerned with the weight/vibration on the 3/8 bolt setup. I can picture that fatiguing and breaking off. Now that you have the measurements to center your assembly could you cut some square tube and weld it together instead of the bolt...

    Loader Joystick Hydraulics question

Why not just make an adapter to change direction of the handle? Square piece of stock with two holes drilled and tapped to the appropriate thread that are 90* from each other. Take the handle apart by the boot, install your adapter and viola it changed direction. Or bend the handle that's on the...

Can you get your tall elbows with the JIC swivels like the short elbows?

    Loader Joystick Hydraulics question

I would use a male pipe x female JIC swivel straight fitting. If you get a swivel fitting on the hose end it will have a o-ring in it. I've seen those o-rings fail and the rest of the hose will still be good--waste of a good hose because of a 30 cent o-ring. The fitting I'm recommending has no...

    Loader Joystick Hydraulics question

Getting late tonight. I'll send some links tomorrow of the type of swivels I'd use.

    Loader Joystick Hydraulics question

If they used Loctite 242 it's only a medium strength. You can get them loose using hand tools. But you'll have to have the valve body anchored so you can put some force on your wrench. Use a good fitting open end or a tubing wrench. The fitting you took out of the valve is a ORB fitting...

This is a ORB, o-ring boss, fitting.

    Loader Joystick Hydraulics question

If you need new o-rings I'd go with the viton. As for the elbows I'd use ORB fittings, you can position them at any angle you need then tighten up the nut to seal the o-ring and lock it down. Good luck with the knee and tractor project.
