Lime when you can, ideally you are able to work it in soil - but being in an orchard, that wont be possible. I usually spread in my orchard areas in the winter kind of like frost seeding. I figure that is about as close to bare dirt as I will get and the snow/rain will help it seep down.
Thanks for the update. I do have a few of those verities planted and so far the Keiffer (I purchased from Turkey Creek) has been the best performing for me at their young age. The others are coming on though.
Moonglows have been a disaster for me. I am going to yank 2 out of the ground this...
Native....maybe you have done it recently and I missed it, but can you provide an update on the pear trees you planted from Wildlife Group (or others)? I need to plant about 6-10 pears and an on a hunt for varieties.
Still have a bunch of these that I am hoping to get rid of. Just looking to cover shipping and maybe a 6 pack! Ha.
Let me know if anyone is looking for some tree pots.
They are 3.125"x3.125"x4" tall, product #41420 in this link......https://rootmaker.com/wholesale-store
They work great for chestnut. I grew TONS of chestnut and could usually get them to 12-18"+ in these pots before I moved to 1 gallon bags.
I would ship them if we can work that into the cost...
I purchased a case of these back when I was growing hundreds of trees and now am looking to downsize my operation. Have dozens of the pots with trays I would like to sell. Each tray holds 18 pots.
Looking to sell for $12 per each set of tray and 18 pots.

Bunches if engineering guys.....I'm a structural engineer (mostly bridges and heavy infrastructure). I enjoy it but can think of about 1 million other things I'd rather do for "fun". Dealing with deadlines and tight schedules and client hell sometimes drives me crazy, but I would be really hard...
We bought the Zinus mattress for my daughter, then for a guest bedroom......for the $, they are great. The one in our master is a tempurpedic of some sort and also it a good mattress, but i cost about 6X as much as the Zinus and it not 6X better.
I always hear the TV guys mention they have someone drive in and push deer off plots with no major issues.....but if that is not an option, how do you guys get out of stands near plots in the evening without making deer totally aware of you in the stand?
We have some stands that are pretty easy...
My post was a little confusing. We aren't hunting beding areas....i was pointing out we are not actively in their bedding areas while we hunt. Most stands are nearer to food or on transition areas between bedding and food. Hunting every 2-3 days would be on different stands too.....maybe 1 hunt...
I have the wooltimate stuff ( pants, jacket, vest, and gaitor) and don't have any complaints. It's warm and quite wind resistant. I start wearing it when temps are in the 30s. It's also really quiet.
You will still have to layer with the wooltimate if you are stand hunting as it's not a parka...
I know....too many bucks, what's that about, right! Hear me out.
Last couple years I have noticed we go from a good population of does and bucks, likely more bucks than does, to fewer of each this time of year. Then they seem to return when it gets colder again.
I know from cameras on the...
