It is not too often that my wife and I eat a meatless dinner but this one was home grown and a bit different. Beer battered puffball deep fried and homegrown carrots. Absolutly delicious.

I saw a doe with 2 new fawns 2 weeks ago. The doe looked like last years fawn. This is the latest I have ever seen newborns in central NY.

Their tenacity and will to survive are amazing.

I am a meat eater, so we eat all the deer I shoot. That being said we have an 8 point or better rule on our land. We are lucky in that we usually have plenty of doe tags. My family was raised on deer meat as we haven’t bought beef in 30 years. We make our own burger, sausage and cut our own...
