Weed spray

Just planted 100 eastern red cedar saplings this past weekend and need some recommendations on a weed killer. Last year my saplings got weeded out and died and I need a spray that will I can spray in close proximity to my trees and spray a large area that will kill any weeds for good.

Oust spay right over them it won't kill the trees
