The G3 Ranch Thread

Started on the SE plot, was really rough and holding water on the north side. I plan on 1 ac of perennial clover here

Great setup you have there, G3. Cabin and building are great starters, and looks like a nice healthy herd ready to enjoy those great plots. Are your boys close by? As in, do you have some good help?

Thanks Lak...yeah, they all 3 work at our family business my Dad & I started 35 years ago. They do what they can, with young children they are limited.

It looks to be a great place and with that much land you can definitely make a difference! Looks like great genetic!
Thanks, I'm hoping to get some mature deer living here. From what I hear the PO killed an 170" off the place. I haven't seen anything close to that.

Great looking property and deer. The old house looks like a great hunting cabin and nice to have a shop as well!

Looks like you got a real good jump on the buck situation. Nearly a square mile all to yourself is pretty awesome as well with most of it being cover of some form you should be in business. You OK boys seem to have some real nice deer down there.....

Mowing the sorghum/cowpeas/weeds as high as I can...about 14".

I'll spray, seed & mow in a week or so.

According to farm logs two of my plots got .59" & one .95" of rain yesterday. At least some relief.

Yea, the storms developed right over our place and without dropping a drop of rain where we are raced toward wagoner and mayes county dumping rain the whole way... congrats!

Great looking place G3. Big chunk of land, house, shop & good bucks, you're off to a good start. Looking forward to following along.

Thanks j-bird, there's some thick nasty stuff over part of the property. I still have places I need to explore. there are some decent racks, but in this area the body size is smaller.

Sat AM I headed to my local seed n fert supply, conveniently located 7 miles from my ranch, picked up supplies.
