Grafting question

this may be a dumb question but when grafting how long should the scion be how many buds ? is a short one better than a long one [ 7 to 9 in. ] sorry but thanks bill t.

I have always been told 3 buds, that is what i do and have had good luck.

2 to 3 buds is plenty. I grafted before with just one bud of I am short on a certain variety.

I try to keep it at 3 buds. But i end up grafting plenty of 4-5 buds and still get good takes.

yes after doing about 10 grafts and watching on YOU TUBE it hit me less was better ! more energy to 3 buds than the energy to 6 or 7 buds thanks to all bill t.
