Freaking Pine Voles Killed a Bunch of my New Dolgo Crabs (pic)

They girdled a bunch of them even after I soaked the ground with repellents. Any advice from the brain trust/hive mind?

I feel your pain. Never had this problem, but didn't you have any tree protectors? I do 2" of 2B crushed stone around the base of the tree and the tree protector into that at bottom.

I had them in sleeves, caged and sprayed the ground... unfortunately the voles tunneled underground to eat the roots... Check out the picture. Do u have pics of your method ?"

I have had that happen under mulch.They are eating them 10inches under ground

I just noticed your avatar and I think you need her to stand guard and play WhackAVole!

I've had deer rip up the chicken wire from around my direct seeded chestnuts. Only one survived to the fall. Not sure if it made it through the winter.
