I have only owned this farm since Labor Day weekend 2015. I have many more projects to go, but I want the guys that are managing small farms to know that you can have a impact. In the last week I have 5 mature bucks spending at least some of their time on my 33 acres. 15 total bucks using it and 30 to 40 different deer showing up. I basically have a deer per acre over a week's time. I'm concentrating the deer by giving them the best habitat that I can. Treating each section as an opportunity to give the deer and other wildlife something.

Every change in terrain or growth is an opportunity to create an edge. Little pockets of thick bedding next to little kill plot type feeding areas is allowing me to get several groups of deer using an area and not bothering each other.

Like the pics. Looks like you have the food to hold their interest and the bucks to boot! That is cool you are able to give the doe groups their own space to be able to hold different groups. I break my property up into sections and try to do the same things with a thicker cover area as well as a feeding area - that way everybody can play nice.

I really like this. I too am working a small property. We have 36 acres that we bought last summer. I'll keep following for sure. One of these days I'll sit down and set up my own land tour.

My dad is pretty proud of this corn. Cameras are being blown up this week. Finally got a good picture of the "older 10" that hangs out with the tall narrow 8; this deer is is going to finish nicely. He will push 150. The tall narrow 8 and the big 8 are older and more dominate. I really want the half rack 10 to show up. He has came in November the last 2 years. I would love to kill him, but I'm really interested to see how looks 2 years post injury.
