Yellow Nut Sedge

I have several small damp areas <1/2 A that has been taken over by yellow nut sedge. What herbicide will eradicate it? Thunder and Gly only set it back.

This time of year, you will need something more specific to nutsedge on the label, BUT if you catch nutsedge young, gly will take care of it. I killed half an acre of nutsedge with gly last year in early summer, before it matured. I purchased some chemical specifically for nutsedge (basagran), but I just held onto it for some other time, if I need to kill some after it is more mature.

Basagran is also labeled for nutsedge. It's much cheaper than SedgeHammer. I've spot sprayed with SedgeHammer over clover, and it did NOT bother the clover.

My notes also suggest Imox can be mixed with Basagran for nutsedge. It might be on the Raptor label, and not the Imox label.

I used to use a product called Manage, a water soluble packet per gallon of water along with a sticker agent, worked excellent, not sure if it still available

It is recommended t/o use herbicides specific for yellow nut sedge such as Basagran combined with Imox.It is also important to act as early as poss ible to increase effectivenesss;)
