I had an Encore pistol in .260 Rem, very accurate gun. My son loved to shoot it when he was around 12/14 years old.

You've made some beautiful wood!

I'd love to see a step by step thread.

What tools do you use? How much of it is by hand? I used to be a CNC Machinist. Making a contour, outline, and cutouts would have been easy. Would be much more difficult when rasps and chisels are in hand.

my method (it's not pretty)
stock and grip process:
start with a band saw for a silhouette cut
table saw used for receiver inletting holding stock vertically to bed
pillar plunge for receiver fitting done by drill press and hand drill and dremel
shaping performed by use of a Proxxon with carbide rasp
then sand it until you're about to lose your mind, apply finish
